The original Edgelift (Define / Volume) brushes (here) have a combination of boar bristle, flex bristles and ball tips, which are amazing for creating extra definition that lasts, due to their tension creating design and clump smoothing features. For some curlies (especially those with sensitive or compromised strands) they'd prefer to go with a little less tension - so Bounce Curl has come up with a new design that still has the clump separating edges, but with a little less tension (and given us two tension levels to choose from!)
 
Option 1: Slick-Dense Define Edgelift Brush
Medium-density bristles with soft-flex tips designed to create controlled, medium-sized curl clumps for delicate wavy, curly, and coily hair. It is ideal for lightly damaged, color-treated, and fine to medium and coarse textured hair.

How to use:
Prep & Detangle: Start with wet hair. Apply your styling product evenly and detangle.
Section & Define: Divide hair into 1/2-inch sections. Working one section at a time, place hair onto the brush pad at the roots.
Glide & Clump: Gently glide the brush, allowing hair to fall naturally into the grooves to encourage smooth, even curl clumps.
Scrunch & Set: Scrunch curls as needed to enhance definition. Air dry or diffuse as desired.
 
Option 2: Slick-Flex Define Edgelift Brush
The gentlest defining and detangling brush, designed with fewer, ultra-soft bristles that are spaced further apart to minimize resistance while supporting medium-sized curl clumps. It’s ideal for fragile, breakage prone, bleached, or damaged hair.
Its low-tension design and thinner brush pad make it especially well-suited for shorter hair lengths and delicate areas that require extra control without excess tension.

How to use:
Pre-Detangle: On wet hair, gently detangle first using Slick-Flex Define Brush. This can help support the reduction of breakage and create a smoother styling experience.
 
Apply Styling Products: Apply your preferred Bounce Curl styling products, distributing evenly to provide slip and light hold.
 
Section Hair: Divide hair into 1/2-inch sections. This is especially important on fragile or highly compromised hair.
 
Define With The Brush: Using very light pressure, glide the Slick-Flex Define Brush through each section. Allow the ultra-soft, widely spaced bristles to guide hair into soft, natural curl formation without forcing tension.
 
Scrunch & Dry: After defining with the brush, scrunch curls to enhance definition, then air dry or diffuse as desired.
